Jane Plan Charity Work
Our charitable giving so far...
Jane Plan is delighted to have contributed to a number of charities and we relish the opportunity to give back.
As a team, we not only support clients in their charity ventures, but have ourselves taken part in several charity races and events. We think that it's important as we grow from a small business to a larger one, to keep our charitable activities engaged and we're always up for a fun challenge or highlight a worthy cause.
We're thrilled to share some of our contributions to date:
Brain Tumour Reseach Campaign
The team at Jane Plan are proud to sponsor The Brain Tumour Trust 2019 Amber Ball, helping to raise £53000 for this increedible charity.
Brain tumours are indiscriminate and can affect anyone at any age, therefore we are honoured to have played a part in fundrasing for such a powerful and important charity.
Wimbledon Common Half Marathon
Our customer service superstar, Amy, completed the half marathon in an incredible 2 hours 2 minutes. She was raising money for the Malaria No More charity who are doing some amazing work to provide Malaria testing, treatment and mosquito nets to some of the worst affected countries in Africa.
Amy said 'we chose to support this charity because Malaria is a devastating but cheaply preventable disease. And the charity has a proven track record of helping fight malaria since 2009. For all of us it was also a personal challenge we’d considered for a while and was a first attempt at a half marathon.'
Jane Plan were proud to contribute to Amy's fund and she has now reached her £500 target!
London at Night Pink Ribbon Walk

Voluteering at Foodcyle
FoodCycle is a national charity that combines volunteers, surplus food and spare kitchen spaces to create delicious and nutritious meals for people at risk of food poverty and social isolation. We’ve seen the work that FoodCycle does first-hand with members of our team volunteering across London hubs and we are so keen to share their great work with you.
Since FoodCycle started cooking in May 2009, they have served over 125,000 meals made using over 146,000kg of surplus food. They run over 20 projects across the UK, united by the simple idea that food waste and food poverty should not coexist.
We always make sure to mark World Food Day, every October 16th by donating £5 for every order placed on this day to FoodCycle. World Food Day draws attention to the urgent issue of chronic hunger and promotes positive action. FoodCycle shares these values and is helping the 4 million people affected by hunger in the UK through its work. We're delighted to help in any way we can.

British Heart Foundation
In March 2014, the team at Jane Plan HQ geared up for a 5k run. Joined by some of our lovely clients, we all came together in Regents Park, London to help raise as much as we could for the amazing charity BHF. Lots of training and preparation went into the race and we were so proud to all finish the 5k in good time and good health. For everybody who took part Jane Plan donated £50 plus our outside donations, which gave us a total of £570. It ever spurred some of the girls on to sign up for other races!
Supporting Bowel Cancer month
Last spring, to support Beating Bowel Cancer month, we decided to donate a percentage of profit for every new client that signed up for a Plan. It was a great success and we raised over £350!
Jane Plan loves to get involved with your acts of charity and we are always willing to sponsor and support.
We have just sponsored one of our Jane Planners,Tim Durham, who on 31st July 2016, will take part in The Prudential Ride London - Surrey 100 mile event raising as much money as possible on behalf of Action Against Hunger. This event is now in its fourth year and has been incredibly successful with over 25,000 cyclists taking part all raising much needed money for different charities. Action Against Hunger is a charity committed to saving the lives of malnourished children whilst providing communities with access to safe water and adequate food - something we take for granted in our lives. In 2014 the charity helped over 13.6 million people in 46 countries worldwide which is a brilliant achievement. Tim has supported Action Against Hunger for many years and the team do a fantastic job in supporting this cause in difficult circumstances.
He received huge support when he did this in 2013 and we want to help him to continue this support. In an effort to raise as much money as possible he has roped in five other people to ride in the event and also enlisted the support of the Macquarie Foundation who will match fund any donations on completion which is great news! This is his fund raising page: http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/TimDurham, if you wish to offer your support. Make sure you take advantage of Gift Aid which enables the charity to reclaim an extra 25p in tax relief for every £1 donated.
A big thank you to everyone for your generosity and he ensures to report back on how he gets on.
Another one of our star Jane Planners and keen blogger, Jaime Oliver, took part in Team Honk which involved a 16 hour Dancethon on Sunday 8 March to support much needed funds of Red Nose Day! She got hot-to-trot with other bloggers and raised much needed funds for this fantastic cause!
One of our amazing clients Caroline abseiled down Battersea power station last summer! You can find her pictures on our Facebook page!
