Getting the spark back (with your stove)
We've been at home for over a month now, and many of you, like us, must be feeling a slight resentment towards your kitchen. We don't blame you. With nowhere to head out to for a welcome break away from the stove, the task of home cooking seems to have become a real chore.
So how do we reignite our spark with cooking and learn to love this daily ritual? There's no magic wand to wave, but we have got some ways you can mix things up in the kitchen.
New ingredients and recipes
Falling into a rut and cooking the same dish over and over again happens to the best of us. No wonder we get bored. Create some variety by trying out new recipes or include an ingredient you haven't used before. We've got a few tasty dishes to inspire your inner Nigella
Immunity boosting soups
Sweetcorn pancakes
Squash tray bake
Chilli con carne
Zoom cook alongs
We find joy in sharing experiences with others, so whilst we aren't able to connect in the same way, we can adapt. Invite some friends to a Zoom and run a cook along! Simply share a recipe so that everyone can buy their ingredients and prep, then choose who's going to be the presenter / chef.
Take turns with a loved one
If you're living with a family member or friend, encourage each other to take turns cooking. This way, you can enjoy a night off with their cooking and then whip up something tasty to impress the next night. This would even work with a neighbour - you can just leave their portion on the doorstep.
Let us cook for you
Why not order some meals from our Care Package to break up your cooking duties. We've got a wide range of meals inspired by flavours around the world. Just add your favourite veg and you're good to go, how relaxing.
