Go sugar-free!

This year, the team at Jane Plan HQ decided to challenge themselves by going sugar-free. Brave right?

We spent a long time deliberating what to give up for Lent. We had many suggestions from television to tea (there is no way that one would work!), but finally we settled on giving up sugar.

Give into your sweet-tooth with our apple walnut whip - it's sugar free!

We all get cravings for sugary treats, so here are a few ideas to give in to your sweet-tooth without blowing your diet plan!

Apple and cinnamon walnut whip

Serves 1

Calories: 181 
1 apple, sliced into moon shapes
100g fat-free Greek yoghurt 
10g walnuts, roughly chopped
A pinch of cinnamon

Put the apple in a bowl and add a dollop of yogurt, then stir in the walnuts. Sprinkle with cinnamon before serving. Perfect for breakfast, a mid-morning snack or even dessert!

Need more ideas?

-Slice some fresh pineapple and squeeze over some lime juice. It is absolutely delicious topped with a little lime zest and a tasty way to have your mid-morning diet plan fruit allowance!

-Hosting a dinner party? Get a big glass bowl and fill with crushed ice. Cover in all kinds of berries. (Strawberries, raspberries and blueberries look lovely) Garnish with a sprig of mint and you have a beautiful table centre-piece and a healthy dessert!

Jane Plan Tip- If you are prone to adding a teaspoon or two of sugar to savoury recipes to improve the flavour, try adding a splash of balsamic vinegar instead as it has a very similar effect.
