Jane Planner of the Month

Hello, We are very excited to share our Jane Planner of the month for December - Lisa Marangon. Lisa is such an inspiration - not only has she lost weight but she's also taken up running too and is aiming to do an Iron Man Triathalon. WOW!.

Here's Lisa's story.....

"Hi I'm Lisa, I'm 30 years old and I live in Surrey with my husband and our baby boy, Christopher. Last year my husband and I decided it was time to start a  family, however, I was concerned about my weight. I was 86.7kg and had a BMI of 32 - that put me firmly in the 'obese' category. I was also suffering from severe back and hip pain - which was because of my weight! I'm a nurse, so it's important for me to look after my health and well-being and be an example to my patients.  In particular, I am really aware of the importance of being a healthy weight prior to pregnancy, as well as maintaining a healthy lifestyle throughout pregnancy. So when my husband and I were planning to have a baby  I turned to Jane Plan for help, because they had an evidence-based, sensible approach to weight loss. Jane Plan was absolutely fantastic - I reached my target weight of 68kg and had a BMI of 25! I was spot on a healthy weight

I was absolutely over the moon when I found out I was pregnant, and I couldn't have been happier when Christoper was born on 1 April this year. I had enjoyed a really healthy pregnancy, which was due to the amount of weight I lost with Jane Plan. I felt amazing!

Throughout my pregnancy, I ate healthily, but like most mums, I gained a little extra weight. My post-pregnancy weight was 98kg, so when Christoper was 4 months old I got back in touch with Jane Plan - and I am now on track to meet my goal weight of 70kg.  The Jane Plan team was very helpful when I told them I was breastfeeding and explained that they could help me but  I should speak to my doctor first. He was 100% supportive! Together with my Jane Plan Nutritionist, we agreed that I should eat 1,500 calories a day, so I add a few extra veggies each day, and healthy snacks, like avocado, to my Jane Plan.

Since I have lost weight, I have developed a love of exercise. My hip and back pain has gone and I now do the local Park Run every weekend. Running 5km has never been so easy -  my running speed is improving as I lose weight  - in fact I am so inspired that I am planning to do an Iron Man in 2021.

My husband is really supportive of me and so proud of the progress I have made. He is Italian and a massive foodie and absolutely loves the Jane Plan meals, especially the Chicken Tikka Masala. He often works away, so I love that the meals are so convenient and portioned out for me, my favourite is Chicken in Mascarpone!

You can see the difference in these pictures of me before and after. I feel fantastic and my clothes feel much comfier. My next goal is to get back into my nurses uniform in February. I couldn't think of a better way of losing weight - I love Jane Plan"
