Katie's advice on how to lose weight the easy way
73 year-old Katie made the decision to change her life with Jane Plan last year, and in only 46 days she had reached her goals and lost 15lbs!
Katie is from Felixstowe and leads a busy life running a bed and breakfast. Katie is fit and active and a true inspiration to us all. When she felt the weight piling on, she wanted to make a change - not just to look and feel better, but because she wanted to stay fit and active and continue living life to the full. She asked us if we would feature her as Jane Planner of the month, because she wanted to inspire others to do the same. Of course we were delighted to do so. No matter what your age, you can achieve your goals and as Katie says, even losing a few pounds, can make a huge difference.
Last year Katie joined Jane Plan in order to lose 15 lbs. She knew that weight loss can slower the older you get, but she stuck to the plan and 46 days later, she had reached her goals!
Here is what she had to say:
After having the children my weight did go up drastically – in fact at my heaviest of 12 stone and only being 5'2" tall I looked like an Oxo cube. I put myself on a diet and ate healthily and lost 3 stones – but then comes the difficult bit and I started putting it back on. So when I got to 10 1/2 stone I decided it was time to go back onto a diet with support, so I chose Jane Plan – and I am so pleased I did.
I feel so much better in myself, I have lost several inches all over and 15 lbs! It’s so nice to be able to wear smaller sizes with no bulges.
I know compared to most younger people on the plan it's not a lot but remembering I am 73 years old and do not exercise at all. I am very pleased and it’s all been done in 46 days of the Jane Plan!
Katie's top tip?
It’s very difficult to lose weight on your own unless you are very strong willed so my tip would be join Jane Plan where your portions are weighed out for you and the food is beautiful. The support is very important and you get plenty of that. When you reach your goal, as you certainly will, carry on with the support from the Jane Plan team so you stay slim and don't regain the weight you have lost.
