Try some of our home-made mask ideas this Winter.
This time of year, can be tough on your skin and even tougher on your budget, so why not try some of our face mask ideas using ingredients that you probably already have in your homes.
Banana face mask
What you need: 1 medium sized banana
What you need to do: mash up the banana, apply a thin layer to your face and neck, let it set for 10-20 minutes, rinse off with cold water.
This will leave your skin looking and feeling softer.
What you need: Oatmeal, water, plain yoghurt, honey, egg white
What you need to do: Combine 100ml of hot water & 30g oatmeal, allow to settle for 2 minutes then mix in 2 tablespoons of plain yoghurt, 2 tablespoons of honey and 1 egg white.
When all ingredients are combined apply a thin layer to your face and neck and allow to sit for 15 minutes, then rinse with warm water.
The honey in the mask has antibacterial and soothing properties which will leave your skin feeling great.
Green tea mask:
What you need: Green tea, coffee, olive oil
What you need to do: Tear the green tea bag open and add the leaves and coffee into a mixer whilst gradually adding olive oil.
Apply the mixture to your skin and leave for approximately 15 minutes, rinse off with warm water, then splash your face with ice cold water to close your pores.
The antioxidant properties of the green tea will help repair your skin.
* If you have very oily skin, a small drop of olive oil will suffice *
If you are allergic to any of the ingredients in the masks, then do not apply to your face & if any home-made masks are causing irritation then do not continue using
