For me, losing weight was all about my health. With 2 gorgeous grown up daughters, I wanted to be happy and healthy for many years to come and being 56 years old made me think, I’ve just got to do this!
My father died last year from weight related health implications and it made me think that unless I lost weight and become healthier, I may be at risk of not living as long as I’d like to!
I’d actually tried other similar diets before, but for me, the quality of the food at Jane Plan makes it stands out from the others. That’s why I’ve managed to stick to it and lose over 4 stone just 6 months. I started at 15 stone 1 and now I’m just 10 stone 11 lbs! My son is a coeliac, so I have always been careful when preparing our family meals, making sure we all ate healthily.

I’m a busy lawyer and business woman and I have 2 little girls. I struggled to shift the baby weight but I was determined to lose weight to be a healthy role model for my two young girls.
So I was delighted when I came across Jane Plan, as it was a food delivery service that completely fitted with my busy life and offered a big range of delicious recipes to keep the foodie part of me satisfied.
Jane Plan educated me to eat the right portion sizes and to be careful with the carbs with the evening meal. It isn’t expensive – we didn’t see an increase in our food budget at all. I usually like to cook from fresh and initially the idea of pre-prepared meals concerned me, however, my mind was completely changed. All the meals are naturally preserved and don’t use any additives which is important to me.
I was also pleasantly surprised with the wide variety of meals, there are over 70 meals to choose from, from Mediterranean, to Asian, to traditional cuisine… I was spoilt for choice!
Before going on the plan, snacking was one of my worse eating habits. As a self-proclaimed chocoholic, the luxury chocolate bars were perfect for me, not only were they delicious but they really satisfied my craving for chocolate they’re perfection portioned so no post indulgence guilt.

The real reason I started losing weight is because my husband and I have been trying for a baby for five years and the doctors told me that for them to help us, I would need to get my BMI below 30.
I yo-yo dieted on and off for years but nothing ever really worked out so following my meeting with my GP I said to myself "You have to do this, you have to lose this weight, not only for myself but for my family", but I knew I needed something I would potentially stick to. I saw the Jane Plan advert on the TV so investigated online, saw the food and decided this is the one for me!
The Jane Plan food is delicious, so easy to prepare and as I went for the Weekends-Off Plan, I could still go out for a meal with family and friends on the weekend which was nice.
I feel so much healthier now. It's hard to believe that I used to be over 19 stone and now I'm just over 10 stone. I used to be really slow when walking, but now I go for a 30 minute walk on my lunch break as a form of exercise. I also suffer from Irritable Bowel Syndrome and used to get quite poorly at least 3 times a week and to be honest I can't even remember the last time I was poorly, which is brilliant as it affected my everyday life.
Really severe diets are not a realistic way to lose weight and there is no such thing as a quick fix when it comes to long-tem weight loss. I’m not someone who can’t eat so I think that’s why I struggled when I tried other diets where portions were too extreme. Jane Plan allows you to follow a sustainable diet where you don’t feel hungry. I’m so happy with my current weight and it’s made all the difference to my self esteem and how I feel.
I would recommend Jane Plan to anyone who wants to change their life. Not only is the food delicious, but it’s the perfect start to a healthier lifestyle. Not only does it help you lose weight but it also teaches you how to live a healthy and maintainable lifestyle.

I made the decision to lose weight when I was starting university. I wanted to be able to feel confident about myself when I was in social situations and meeting new people.
I am 21 years old and I'm studying physics at the University of Sussex. I began to put on weight slowly but steadily following a knee injury, which left me unable to run and only capable of light exercise and cycling. Once I was already overweight I felt as though I had no control over my weight and body. I stopped caring as much about eating healthily and didn't pay as much attention to my diet. As a result the pounds piled on.
Trying to lose weight at university and as student can be very difficult. With all the nights out, takeaways and midnight snacks going on around you, the temptation can be hard to resist.
I had considered other diets and tried eating more healthily by myself, but being a vegetarian, I found that I needed a diet with enough variety and food which would give me enough energy to keep me sustained throughout the day.
Jane Plan was great as the food was not only delicious, there was also a huge selection of meals. The veggie dishes were full of protein like beans, pulses and kept me going. I had energy throughout the day.

I live alone and work 2 jobs meaning I have a very busy lifestyle. On the plan I do not have to worry about prepping meals or wasting any ingredients, all I need to do is pop my meal in the microwave and I am ready to go – saving me time and money.
I do still love to cook, so the flexibility of the plan is important to me, I am on the weekends off plan which means I can still cook all my favourite home-cooked meals on the weekend and enjoy social outings.

I had been over weight for a long time and it was really getting me down. I work as a lorry driver, so I’m always sitting down rather than moving around and also I’m always around fast food. I just didn’t know where to turn and was really nervous that Jane Plan might not work for me.

As a fresh graduate new to the working world, balancing work and social life along with living a healthy lifestyle has always been important to me.
I am a keen runner and exercise has always been important to me, but even with the exercise I still struggled to shift an extra few pounds.
Jane Plan highlighted to me that you can be on a healthy eating plan, without even noticing. I still got to enjoy a delicious and balanced breakfast, lunch, dinner and even snack every day. Losing my post-baby weight was a massive challenge. Following the birth of my eldest child, I weighed 11 stone 12lb. I'd always been slim and wanted to get back to the old me again.

Richard - I’ve lost 30kg and have never been fitter or healthier!
At 120kg I used to hide from the camera but now I’m 90kg and fighting fit (planning to hit 85kg soon). All this in just a few months thanks to Jane Plan! However, weight loss is only part of the story. I have suffered from high blood-pressure and other related problems.
During my time on the Plan I saw my blood pressure drop from a peak of 164/109 (high) when I started to 120/81 (normal). My resting heart rate has also dropped, from 89bpm down to 57bpm.
And that's not all. My GP printed out my last set of results and told me to frame them. My total cholesterol dropped from a peak of 6 down to 3 and triglyceride levels dropped from 9 down to less than 1. I was about to have to go onto medication to manage it, but now I don't have to. And better still, we are discussing dropping and perhaps stopping my blood pressure medication as well (rather than the usual annual increase.)
And with the money I saved by following the plan (cutting back on alcohol and snacking) I was able to afford a Fitbit and also a few sessions with a personal trainer. Jane Plan has literally changed my life.

I wanted to lose weight after giving birth to my gorgeous little girl, but because I was breast-feeding, I just put it off again and again. Being a busy working mum and having sleepless nights in the first few months, the last thing I wanted to do was a crash diet plan!
My family and friends expressed concern about my weight gain, but to be honest, I didn’t really listen to them. I comfort ate to take my mind off everything. When I saw these pictures, I was shocked!
The final straw was when my GP refused to give me a repeat prescription for the pill, as I was classed as obese, based on my BMI. That word suddenly hit me, and I left the consultation room in tears. As an emotional eater, I had been over weight for a long time, on a bad day I would binge eat, feel guilty, then start all over again – it was a vicious circle. I struggled with low self esteem and felt frumpy.
I'd tried lots of diets but nothing worked in the long term, I'd lose weight and then put it on again. But that hasn’t been the case with Jane Plan – it’s broken my relationship with food. I started the Plan following a health issue when my weight had crept up to 12 st 1lbs - I was 1 lb off being obese. At a size 16/18 I knew I had to make a change, for the sake of my health. It wasn’t just my weight that was affecting me, I was also getting mood swings which were having a negative impact on my relationship. Since starting the Plan I haven’t looked back. I lost over 3 stone and reached my goal weight of 9 stone, it felt great. I felt so motivated and positive that I had finally started to get my weight under control, but I did not feel deprived as you do on crash diets.
It is a great feeling to be able to fit back into old clothes and feel more confident in the way I look. The consistent weight loss of 2.5 lbs a week is good as you don’t get the plateaus or the weight gain in some other diets, so you see the benefits without the pain.

I hit rock bottom in April 2015 when I was invited to a friend’s wedding. I had absolutely nothing to wear, I hated my clothes and I hated myself. The picture here was taken just before the wedding and when I saw it I decided ‘I have to do something – I’m so unhappy’. I was a size 22!
It was a daunting journey – before starting Jane Plan my portions were out of control, I ate irregularly, snacked at night and was completely sedentary. But I wasn’t to be defeated. I joined Jane Plan and haven’t looked back, in fact this Christmas I will be more than 4st lighter than I was last Christmas. I’m now a size 14 and I feel fabulous.

I wanted to lose weight to improve my quality of life. I started Jane Plan at 92kg and am now 74 kg – with just 2 kg to go. My problem is that I love living the good life and all the pleasure that goes with that – especially food and drink.

Richard - I'm fighting fit and feeling great - 20kg lighter
Jane Plan helped me to reset my eating habits. Before Jane Plan, I was making unhealthy food choices without realising. I had been made redundant and my weight had crept up to the point that I had a 44 inch waist and weighed 107kg. I’m 5ft 7 so my weight gain was really affecting how I felt.
I signed up to Jane Plan because I knew I needed to make a long-term change. I felt hungry for the first two days on the Plan and then my routine completely readjusted. It’s the little changes that make a difference. Instead of using full fat milk with porridge, I now use water and I’ve cut processed food out of my diet entirely. I’ve learned about portion control and how useful it is to count snacks out in a handful, like berries or almonds. I’ve got more creative with my additions to meals too. I add avocado and hot sauce to Jane Plan beef chilli and I add kale to the pork meatballs.
I’m now 13 and a half stone and wear 36 inch jeans! Everyone has noticed the difference and I feel so much more confident, even my posture has changed. When you lose excess weight, you feel better. Last summer was the first one in years that I was able to run around with my nieces and nephews. Exercise really helps with the Plan and I’ve experienced a real lifestyle turnaround. I’m now a keen cyclist and currently training for a 95 mile cycle this June. I completed a 100 mile cycle earlier in the year and my new healthy approach has even rubbed off on others! My mum now swims and a friend of mine has signed up to try the Plan too. It’s a great feeling to inspire others and I feel so much more positive.

Nicola - Illness hasn't stopped me losing 4 stone!
I was diagnosed with ME in 2001 when I was 30, and I went from being active, walking miles to go to the gym to struggling to get off the sofa. I was addicted to carbs and by 2014 I’d reached 17st 10lbs – too big for my 5ft 4 frame.
Things went from bad to worse as I was diagnosed with a fatty liver and I knew I had to do something about my weight. A friend suggested Jane Plan and I signed up. I was amazed how good the food was – the penne bolognaise is a favourite.
In the first week I lost 7lbs, then continued to lose 2lbs a week. Within just a few months I’d shed 4 stone! Instead of being stuck on the sofa I had much more energy – I even started to enjoy the school run. And last month the doctor told me my fatty liver had reduced.
I feel much better about myself psychologically, I am so much more comfortable and can look in the wardrobe in the morning and choose an outfit happily without having to put on leggings and a smock! I feel excited about clothes again, I was very unhappy about the way Iooked before. I can move more easily, there is less body to have to move! My skin is clearer and my eyes brighter. My gut is better and more settled. I am not so fatigued as it's easier to get about.

I’m 5ft 2in and small-framed, so carrying extra weight and squeezing into size 14s felt really uncomfortable. My weight had crept up slowly so when my husband took some photos late last year I was shocked by how big I’d become.
We thought we’d been eating well, cutting out alcohol in the week and watching our carbs. I wasn’t a snacker either, though enjoyed weekend treats like roasts and full breakfasts. But my portion sizes had crept up, so even my salads were super-sized.

The main catalyst for me wanting to lose weight was that I was getting out of breath tying up my shoe laces! It was an amazing feeling the first time I managed to do it, without thinking, I bent over from the waist and did them up while still breathing. A great sense of achievement!!
I've spent my whole life loathing exercise and loving food and booze, and I have a lot of hobbies that involve both. Doctors had always told me I should lose weight but have never helped me understand how. At over 17 stone when I started, I thought I had a difficult journey ahead of me but I was wrong! Had I known it was so easy, I’d have done it years ago - with a small amount of will, and very little thought I was able to achieve something I had previously thought impossible! Now under 15 stone, I feel like a new man! Claire and I celebrated our weight loss with an amazing holiday and spent 2 weeks in nothing but a speedo and a bikini (I’ll let you work out who was wearing which)

I started on Jane Plan a few weeks before my husband Michael’s sudden and very unexpected terminal illness diagnosis. It was so good to have a supply of easily prepared, nutritious and tasty meals to hand.
Thanks to Jane Plan, other than than preparing fresh fruit and vegetables, I didn't need to worry about shopping and cooking for myself and could concentrate on Michael.
At my heaviest, I was 11st 2 which wasn’t good, as I am only 5ft 3. I gained weight due to a combination comfort and stress eating as I was in the process of being made redundant. Through sensible eating, I had managed to reach 10st 2, but couldn't get any further........so joined Jane Plan, and haven't looked back. I’m now 8 stone 5 and feel great!
Following Jane Plan, meant that when I got home from hospital appointments, I was able to look in the cupboard and take out something that I knew was delicious and had the right amount of calories. Michael had a very small appetite when he was ill so our house was full tempting but high calorie treats like Mars bars, cheese and biscuits in an effort to get him to eat. With all of this temptation and our erratic routine, it was a godsend to have Jane plan meals ready to go! I was able to put a tasty salad in my bag and head out the door. The other fantastic thing about this diet plan is that there is no waste.
When it comes to my favourite meals, I really enjoyed the vanilla porridge and I love adding frozen berries for a burst of flavour. I also add broccoli and green beans to main meals for extra nutrients and vitamins. Jane Plan really works, it helped me when I really needed the support.

When I turned 46, I knew I had to do something about my weight or my health would suffer and my dreams for the future wouldn't be possible. Since I lost the weight, life is going to be very different - having lost weight, I'm now 10st 7 and I can't believe the transformation I've experienced.
I think I was in denial but last Christmas I knew I had to do something about my weight. I had dreams of doing lots of active travel once my girls left home, and I realised that this wouldn't be possible if my body wasn't fit.
My knees and hips had become really stiff and achy. I've been on my own with my daughters since they were very young and an old colleague of mine (now retired) was always telling me it all comes together at 47 and in jest with a hint of reality - I didn't want to be frumpy when this beacon of an age arrived, especially as my daughters are more independent at 18 and 15!
I knew the issue for me was thinking about healthy meals and how to put them together. I'd come home exhausted and grab easy food, basically chocolate and wine! Food was becoming an anxiety and I was overwhelmed by GI, GL, 5:2 and so on! I'd laughed to friends what I needed was a personal chef!
Then I happened to read a Christmas magazine (I've kept the article!) about Jane Plan and I thought this is exactly what I need. It really was - not just the food but knowing personal support was at the end of the phone. I also made a commitment to myself to return to exercise that nurtured me and calmed my stress levels so yoga, swimming, walking and horse riding.
I reached my goal and finished Jane Plan in June (10st7) and have kept it off since. Your simple advice of weekly calorie intake was revolutionary to me! I still have wine and treats but its within known weekly limits.
When my first Jane Plan box arrived at work, I was so excited! I opened it with a friend - the month's snacks were packaged in tissue and a sticker like Boden or Liz Earle! I liked that :)
10 months on, my knees no longer ache, I jog up the stairs at work and I can do the crab in yoga! By cutting down on my carb intake, I no longer feel bloated with that uncomfortable feeling. At my heaviest, I weighed 15st 12lbs and I had reached the point that my eating choices were beginning to get beyond my control. I ate tasty things like fish and chips, or sides like mac and cheese and heavy carbs that we loaded with calories. I now weigh 11 stones 7lbs – incredible right
I exceeded my goal of getting down to a weight of 12 stone and I managed to keep going with real gusto! I gave up smoking 18 months ago and I’ve stopped drinking beer so making those changes has really helped my health.
I think a real highlight since my weight loss was when a tailors wasn’t able to alter a suit that I had from before starting Jane Plan. I was so much leaner that it was impossible to take in without ruining the line of it and it has simply become a clown suit!! It was a bitter-sweet feeling of having to buy much smaller clothes. Lisa - I chose Jane Plan instead of gastric band surgery
I was so down about my weight when I was on holiday just before my 40th birthday that my husband sold his car so we could afford a gastric band consultation. I was living in three or four items of clothing and I felt that surgery might be the best option to make a permanent health change.
My father died at the age of 46 and I was very worried that my own weight issues might begin to impact negatively on my health if I didn’t take action.

I struggled with my weight for many years, so wasn’t after a short-term fix but a long-term solution to losing weight. I’ve lost almost three stone with Jane Plan and I can honestly say, it’s been life-changing!

Annie - I banished comfort eating for good
I’m 49 and had been battling with my weight over the last 3-4 years. I had to face a few more challenges than usual last year and, as many women do, I found myself turning to food for comfort.
When I took the selfie above in the summer I weighed in at my heaviest weight since giving birth – and that was 13 years ago – so I knew it was time to take action.

I knew I needed to lose weight when walking up even a slight hill made me out of breath. When I stood on the scales I realised I was over 16 and a half stone so I knew I had a problem.
That was 2 years ago when I was 68 – I’m 70 now. I lost just over 3 stone in 3 months – pretty amazing really, but I was really good. I’m a dental hygienist with 2 very young children, so sometimes healthy eating can be the last thing on my mind. I loved the Jane Plan because I didn’t have to prep any meals and as they are perfectly portioned already, the thinking was already done for me.
Not only did the plan help me beat the bloat, but I have noticed a difference in my clothes, which were much looser, and my skin, it was much clearer. In fact, I noticed these differences within days of starting the plan. I was so impressed that I found myself telling other people about the plan.
I love the variety of meals and to be honest, it tasted so much better than I was expecting. My personal favourite was the Slow cooked lamb with market vegetables. I started Jane Plan in February 2014 and reached my target (actually I lost even more weight which was a bonus) by the summer. I lost about 2 stone and went from a dress size 12 bordering on a 14 down to an 8.
Since then I have continued on Jane Plan as I still like it, find it convenient, easy and enjoy the meals. However I do allow myself the odd coffee and cake again and occasional meal out as I don’t need to lose any more weight, and I am doing a lot more walking every day.
Jane Plan has permanently re-educated my eating habits so that I start every single day with a bowl of porridge and fruit. I also eat a lot more fruit and vegetables and am more than happy to eat every supper without potatoes.

I am 80 years old and been told by my doctor that I wouldn’t be able to lose weight, but with Jane Plan I did! I proved them all wrong and I am so proud of myself.

I followed Jane Plan and slimmed down from a size 16 down to a healthy size 10 and managed to kick my unhealthy snacking habit! I've battled with my weight for over 10 years, suffered from an eating disorder and even feared that yo-yo dieting might have left me infertile.

I was seriously considering gastric band surgery and thought I'd give a diet one last try. I had put a lot of weight on having developed a condition called Fibromyalgia in 2014 which causes pain and fatigue.
I chose Jane Plan because I needed convenience - I was tired and in pain so shopping and cooking wasn't an option. I had been turning to takeaways and unhealthy convenience food due to my condition and had put on a substantial amount of weight which was only exacerbating my symptoms. I used to very slim indeed and modelled when I was young. As the years have passed, having faced some challenging times, my stress levels went through the roof and my weight shot up.
My New Year Resolution was to get the old me back. I wanted to regain confidence after years of feeling so dreadful. For me, that meant losing weight and getting my art displayed in a high profile exhibition or gallery.
I wanted to lose weight so I could feel my absolute best, not just for my personal self esteem but also because I wanted to have the confidence to promote my work. As an artist you have to walk into galleries and show them your pictures, in the hope they will take you on.
Unbelievably this year, I've lost the weight and also was accepted to exhibit at the Affordable Art Fair. As part of my work, I attend gallery openings and other events where you have to dress up – having lost the weight, I feel so much happier about doing this.

I did Jane Plan following an illness where I had to take steroids, which made me put on weight – in fact, I put on 3 stone in total. I used to be a model so I am used to being slim, so putting on weight was a huge shock to me.
At my heaviest I was 13 st 7 lbs, and even though I’m 5ft 10 I didn’t like the way I looked or felt. I hated all my clothes and always covered up as much as possible. I felt old and frumpy – and given I’m 61, the last thing I want to feel.
